How to remove arrows from desktop icons

A quick guide to removing arrows from desktop icons.

  1. Go to Start > Run > Regedit (Or if you are using Windows7, Open Start and type in Regedit search)
  2. Follow this path: "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\lnkfile" (l = L, not i)
  3. Find the file called "IsShortcut" on the right
  4. Right-click and delete that file.
  5. Restart the system and the arrows on the icons will disappear.
