Star Wars: The Old Republic or abbreviated massively multiplayer online game based on the Star Wars universe. It was developed by the BioWare Austin studio, and some help came from the studio of the same company from Edmonton.
The game was first announced in October 2008. However, a lot of time passed before the game was released in its final form, so this title finally saw the light of day on December 20 last year in the US market and some European countries. Early access to the game began a week earlier on December 13 last year for those who pre-ordered the game online.
The plot of this game takes place in the Star Wars fiction universe shortly after the establishment of a fragile peace between the Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic 300 years after the events of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and more than 3500 years before the events described in Star Wars movies.
The Jedi are responsible for the success of the Sith during the devastating 28-year Great Galactic War and therefore chose to move from Coruscant to Tython, where the Order of the Jedi was founded, to seek leadership from the Force. The Sith controlled Kirrivan, where they re-founded the Sith Academy. The game begins ten years after new conflicts emerge. Players start the game by joining one of the two main factions - the Galactic Republic or the Sith Empire.
Although each faction is led by a leader, the emphasis is on the fact that each individual member can acquire morale at any time. The key focus of the project is to distinguish between faction and player morale. For example, a player with ties to the Galactic Republic may belong to the Dark Side while trying to achieve his own goals, which may be contrary to those of the vision of the Republic.
Player advancement is a combination of completing missions, exploring, and defeating enemies. New skills and unlocked levels are learned by coaches and can be learned in-game in multiple locations. There are heroic missions that require the cooperation of several players to complete the goals and can be repeated daily.
Even though each class in the Old Republic has a certain style of play as a favorite, customization combined with other characters allows you to create different situations with or without the support of other player characters and without the need for specific other classes to advance. There is a wide range of available species for players to choose from including humans, cyborgs, and species such as Chiss, Cyborg, Miraluka, and Mirialan.
Rattataki, Sith Pureblood, Twi'lek, and Zabrak. Although humans and Zabrak species can choose whichever class they want, other species are limited to a narrower choice of classes.
