Lamar Smith said he is withdrawing the controversial SOPA law for now until they find a solution.

Namely, the people behind this have obviously taken the protests of Wikipedia, Google, Reddit, and other big companies around the world seriously.

Also, this decision was likely influenced by recent hacker attacks on the pages of music houses and government organizations.

I have heard critics and taken seriously concerns about proposed laws to address online piracy.

He adds, “It is clear that we need to re-approach the way to solve this problem of thieves who steal and sell American inventions and products.”

Recently, SOPA and PIPA lost the support of eight members of Congress after major protests by the Internet community.
