Call of Duty: Elite confirmed

The Wall Street Journal has confirmed speculation that Activision is planning an online service for the Call of Duty franchise to be called: Call of Duty: Elite.

Speculation about the name of this service surfaced earlier this month when the Elite logo appeared online. As speculated, COD: Elite will be a premium service that will offer additional content for a monthly subscription, not an attempt to charge for multiplayer gaming. Basically, some of the content that will be offered from Elite, such as the Facebook-like social aspect, will be completely free. The monthly subscription for this service is expected to be less than $8.
