You decided to start writing a blog and chose the WordPress platform and now you are "exploring" possibilities, options, themes… You must have noticed that up in the address bar, to the left of your blog link, there is an icon with the letter W. It is basically the icon you get when you install WP, and you would definitely want to replace it with someone of yours that is nicer, so you can do that very easily.
So, you have installed WP and above you, there is an icon with the letter W, something like this:
And you want to change.
Ok, first step: Find the icon you would like to put. You can do this in several ways; to draw it yourself (www.favicon.cc), or you can choose any image and simply convert it. You can do the conversion on this site.
Step Two: Put an icon on your blog. You can do this via an FTP client (Filezilla, smart FTP…) or directly from Cpanel. In Cpanel, open the "file manager" and find the path to your blog topic. Example: public_html/wp-content/themes/Name_theme
When you open that folder you will see a file named "favicon.ico", it is that existing icon that you will replace with yours. First, delete it and then download it from the site where you made the icon to your computer and then upload it to the folder just mentioned.
That would be it. Go to your blog and refresh the page (F5) and you will see a new icon.
Here you can see the tutorial for Blogger.
