Windows Double Explorer

Windows Double Explorer

If you are used to the use of so-called "Two-panel" file managers, primarily Total Commander, and when surfing the net you find that the tabbed interface makes it much easier for you to use the browser, you will like this program. Windows Double Explorer … If it was not clear enough from the name what to expect from this program, a more detailed explanation follows.

When you start the program, you will be greeted by the default interface configuration, which displays two Explorer windows, identical to the default Windows layout, but this time one above the other. Even though this layout cannot be changed, the usability of the program has already been significantly improved compared to the solution from Redmond.

The interface of the program itself is quite bare, and the toolbar contains icons of only the most useful options and settings. For more advanced features, such as mapping network drives, or accessing system folders, the usual menu system is available. What you will most likely use often is customizing the layout. Do you want your Explorer windows to be placed next to each other instead of on top of each other? No problem, just one click on the "Layout 2" option is enough. Although the name is not overly descriptive, we believe that the drawing next to the icon will be enough to eliminate doubts.

Windows Double Explorer

If you thought that was all this program could do, you were wrong. The program has another "ace up its sleeve", it is about the possibility of working with tabs. This is not the first, and probably not the last file manager to offer tabbed content organization, but the combination of tabs and two panels is less common. This way, you can have a virtually unlimited number of folder instances open in both panels, so all your documents can be at your fingertips at any time.

I hope this really useful program will serve you well.
