One city in Japan is the first city in this country to replace its official Web site with a Facebook page.

Facebook has made slow progress in this country, and the reason for that is partly the fact that users prefer to socialize online where they can remain anonymous, such as "mixi", a large Japanese social network.

Representatives of the city of Takeo state that they tried to use the mentioned network, but that the users sent ugly comments instead of having serious discussions. Takeo's Facebook page can be seen by anyone, but only registered members can leave their comments.
