Here's what a VPN can't protect you from (but you need to use it)

The abbreviation " VPN " has slowly become established among average Internet users, which is certainly good, but the problem is that people have started to see VPN as the ultimate solution to all problems.

How to find a phone if it is muted?

How to find a phone if it is muted?

It happens to all of us that we forget where we left our phone, and when we try to call it, we remember that the sound remains muted. What then? Don't worry, if you have Android then no problem. There are two methods to solve this problem:

  1. Offline option (requires phone preparation)
  2. Online option (requires internet connection)

The first method is better if your phone is not connected to the Internet (WiFi or mobile), but you need to install and set up the application first. The second method does not require any phone preparation, which is a plus, but it does require the phone to be connected to the Internet. I will show you both methods.

Offline option

  1. Install the free Clap to Find the app
  2. Launch it and tap 3 times
  3. Confirm and adjust the options if you want the volume and sound of the ringtone
Clap to find app

Now you need to put the phone in silent mode and when you tap 3 times the phone will start ringing.

If you don't want to clap, then I recommend the application  Treehouse - Ring My Droid. This app will make your phone ring under any conditions when you send it an SMS with a specific code. You can set a keyword, say "find phone" and when the phone receives that SMS (sent from someone's phone) the application will start ringing.

Online option

  1. Go to https://www.google.com/android/find and sign in to the G account you're signed in with on your phone
  2. Select your phone from the list
  3. Click "Play sound"

The phone will now ring as if someone is calling you, and when you locate the phone you can stop the ringing. In the same way, you can lock the phone remotely if it is connected to the Internet.

Top 5 free Google Maps alternatives in 2021

Google Maps is for many the main application for navigation, searching for restaurants, sights, information about an object… etc. There are really many options, including Offline navigation, but again, some users do not want to just use Google services. Google is indeed a bit of a taboo topic when it comes to user privacy, so in this article, I would like to present similar applications that do not use Google services.

Google offline maps - instructions

Google has recently added several new features to its maps, including Offline maps and turn-by-turn navigation. It was these two options that were missing so that Google Maps  that could be used as a standalone offline navigation app.

The difference between Sleep, Hibernate and Hybrid sleep options

What is the difference between regular Sleep mode and Hybrid sleep mode? And what is Hibernate ? I will try to explain in the simplest way possible so that everyone understands nicely. 1. Sleep When you select Sleep mode , all components of the computer except RAM are shut down to store data. So, if you do something on the computer and press Sleep, the computer shuts down and everything you did (left open windows, documents, etc.) is stored in RAM.

iPad 3 and 3D hologram

You've probably seen the concept for the iPhone 5, now you can also see the iPad 3 made by the same company, Aatma Studio. Certainly one of the options that I believe everyone will like is the 3D hologram and the ability to merge multiple iPads into one (which is also shown in the clip below).

How to insert a logo in a QR code

Short video tutorial on how to insert the logo of your company, site, or forum in QR Code quickly and easily. For this, we will need a site where we will generate a QR code and a Photoshop program with which we will insert the desired logo into the Code. I recommend goqr.me because we can choose " Error correction " which means we can make "errors" on the Code. In our case, it will be the Logo that we will insert in the middle of the Code.
