Mobile networks in North America are filled to 80% of capacity, with 36% of base stations facing capacity constraints, according to a study conducted by investment bank Credit Suisse.
Networks in other regions are also more than 50% utilized, with a global utilization of 65%. The level of usage coincides with an average "threshold" rate that could lead service providers to start buying more network equipment, the report said.
