In the very week when we learned that Google is becoming a hardware manufacturer, after taking over Motorola, we also received information that another Internet giant is planning to do the same. Namely, it is rumored that Facebook is allegedly working on creating its own mobile phone.
Until now, we have already heard stories about their attempt to create a phone together with HTC that is essentially intended for users of social networks. That whole action was known to us under the name "Buffy". The result of their cooperation is the appearance of mobile phones with integrated Facebook and a new Facebook button. The models that first had this functionality were HTC ChaCha and HTC Salsa which were presented to the public in February 2011.
The next rumor that reached us concerns the takeover of Opera by Facebook. Now we get new information about the fact that Facebook has so far hired six of Apple's former hardware and software engineers who worked on the development of the iPhone and iPad. An unofficial, anonymous source from Facebook itself confirms the suspicions by saying that the company plans to launch its own phone by early next year.
The fact is that more and more users are switching to mobile devices that they also use for surfing the Internet and that Facebook must not allow itself to "trot" in this field, but we will soon see what their next steps are and what strategy they are preparing in this area.
