We often find a movie we like, but in addition to a good movie, we also need subtitles. Domestic subtitles for movies and series are available online, posted by people who voluntarily translate foreign subtitles. However, it is not enough to just find a subtitle for a movie or series, you need to "guess" the right subtitle.

Okay, if you have a movie, let's start by looking for a suitable translation.

All the necessary information is in the name of the film

Yes, all the information you need to find the right subtitle is in the name of the movie. So, let's take the movie Clash of the Titans (2010) 720p BrRip x264 as an example.  In the name, we can see x264,  720p, and  BrRip  (BluRay Rip). We are now looking for a translation using this information.

How to find subtitles for movies and series?

We can search for translation on several sites, but I recommend:

Open one and enter a clean name for the movie (e.g. Clash of the Titans) and search for subtitles. Now in the search results, you are looking for the name of the subtitle next to which they write the same information as in the name of the movie (BrRip, 720p, x264).

Somewhere on the page, you can see the field "Method of processing" where the author of the subtitle stated for which films the translation is certainly suitable. If your film is there, you can download the translation with 100% certainty.

What if the name of the movie is not on this list?

If the name of your film is still not listed here, go to the bottom of the page and look for comments. Usually, users who have tried a translation post the names of the movies that the translation goes with (as I commented on this translation). If the name of your movie is not found here either, then download the subtitle anyway (if some of that information matches), then insert it into the movie and see if it matches.

How to insert a translation into a movie?

Once you have downloaded the translation, unzip it to the folder where your movie is. Copy the entire title of the film and paste it for the title of the translation, e.g. Film-Name.avi and Movie-Name.sub. Or just drag the translation into the Player box where you released the movie.

Now start the movie and the translation will load itself. Rewind to the part where someone speaks and see if the translation matches.
