OTG stands for "On The Go" and all modern smartphones have an OTG function. But many do not even know what an OTG cable is, how to use it and what it can be used for, and some do not even know if their phone has this feature.
What is OTG?
In general, you can connect your phone to a computer with a USB cable, but no other USB devices with your phone. USB Host (OTG) is just for that. So, if your smartphone has an OTG, it can act as a USB Host and thus can "command" USB devices, such as a mouse, and keyboard… On that occasion, it not only commands USB devices but also the power supply. You guessed it, the USB device then consumes the phone's battery. Knowing all this, we can come to the conclusion that it is feasible to charge the phone with a phone - which is true, and you can read how to do it at the end of the article.
Simply put: you can connect USB devices to your phone just as you can to a computer.
How to check if your device supports the OTG
You can check this by entering your phone model in the gsmarena.com website and find the word "USB Host" in the specifications. For a faster search, press CTRL + F and type the word USB Host.
OTG adapters are usually not included in the package, which does not mean that the phone does not have an OTG function. But some more expensive models may have their own OTG adapter that comes with the phone, e.g. Galaxy S7. If you have an OTG function and you do not have an OTG adapter, I will explain below how to get one.
Where to get OTG adapter/cable?
You can go to any mobile service or mobile operator, BUT I recommend it via Aliexpress (and similar) sites because you can find it for a few cents! Buying through Chinese sites is not complicated and I wrote detailed instructions on how to buy there, so you can reading them here.
In the picture below you can see what a mini OTG adapter looks like, and you can buy it here.

What can you use the OTG function for?
For everything that has USB, so: keyboard, mouse, USB flash memory, joystick, lamp… The list is long and you can try everything. But I wrote a few posts and you might get an idea of how to use the OTG function:
