Here's what a VPN can't protect you from (but you need to use it)

The abbreviation " VPN " has slowly become established among average Internet users, which is certainly good, but the problem is that people have started to see VPN as the ultimate solution to all problems.

What NOT to do with your new Android phone?

What NOT to do with your new Android phone?

Many know what they want to do right away with their brand new Android phone, but most don’t know what not to do. In this text, I will give advice on what is not the best thing to do based on the personal experience of many Android users.

DO NOT install applications with unnecessary permissions

DO NOT install applications with unnecessary permissions

Many extremely simple applications require some permissions on the phone that it really doesn't even need. For example, what will the "Flashlight" application get permission for your location or directory and the like? Speaking of that app, don’t install them because Android 5.0+ has that option built-in. Before installing any application, check the permissions required on the application page of the Play Store. If you have Android 6.0+ then no problem, you can limit any permission in the app options. If you have older versions of Android, you can use the Xprivacy module for Xposed - Root required.

DO NOT install applications that "speed up" the phone

DO NOT install applications that "speed up" the phone

With a large number of inexperienced users who have just received their Android phone, I have seen installed applications that "speed up" the phone, such as various Cleaners, RAM managers, Task killers, etc. Android in newer versions (versions used in every phone today) has a great built-in app and memory manager - you have absolutely no need to install apps designed for that. I have already written about this, so read HERE.

DO NOT expect the iPhone experience

DO NOT expect the iPhone experience

If you have just switched to Android from iPhone, or you have tried iPhone from your friend, do not expect an identical work experience. Because, with the Apple device, the rule "everything just works" applies, but that's just how the user sees and thinks (it's interesting that apps on iOS shoot more often than on Android), and in fact, Apple tried to provide such a feeling no matter what it really happens "under the hood". Android is really user-friendly and doesn't hide anything, it's completely yours, it's completely open, and that's why "not so smooth work" can be noticed. The advice is to take a Nexus device after the iPhone because it is produced by Google and Android is best optimized for it.

DO NOT buy the phone from the operator

DO NOT buy the phone from the operator

Why? There are several reasons. First of all, they insert too many unnecessary applications (so-called Bloatware) which are used only for promotion and you cannot remove them as a normal user. The only way is a new system and for that you need Root and you lose the warranty. Furthermore, they send OTA (over-the-air) updates very slowly, so you get, with a little luck, the latest system even after a year from its appearance of that system. And finally, when you pay for the device after e.g. 2 years turns out to be more expensive than if you bought it in a store. And you were still limited and nailed to that operator all the time.

And for the end…

New Google mobile internet saving application - Datally

I wrote an article on how to save internet traffic on an Android device and I suggested the Onavo Extend and Opera Max apps because they were the most popular back then. Meanwhile, Opera Max has been discontinued and Onavo has been completely redesigned and is now a VPN application with the option to save internet traffic. Their compression technology is probably now used by Facebook in its application because they bought Onavo - link . Google has decided to seize the opportunity and "push" with a new application called " Datally ".

SOPA and PIPA are slowly losing support, the protest yielded results

Controversial U.S. anti-piracy laws, known by the acronyms SOPA and PIPA lost the support of eight members of Congress after major protests by the Internet community. Support was denied, among others, by Marco Rubio of Florida, a rising star of the Republican Party, and his party colleague Roy Blunt of Missouri - who were among the signatories of the bills.

How to change IMEI number on Android phone?

IMEI is an abbreviation of "international mobile equipment identity" and each mobile phone should have a unique IMEI number. You cannot change this number with the operator, but you can temporarily change it on your device. It allows the operator to accurately identify your device and thus enable/disable network services. Also, you can use the possibility of changing the IMEI number, at least for a short time, if you know exactly what you want, but I leave those ideas to you because this is an educational article.

Twitter is celebrating its sixth birthday

Exactly six years ago, one of the founders of Twitter posted his first tweet - " just setting up my twttr ". Although the popularity of this service was modest in the first few years, today Twitter has over 500 million users who send tweets, and messages 140 characters long.

Wireless phone chargers - where, which and how to buy?

Wireless chargers are purchased separately from the device itself, and the user often does not know which Wireless charger to buy or where. Of course, they can be bought from us, not everywhere, but some stores sell them,  which I already wrote about .
