Orcs Must Die! 2 is a tower defense strategy game developed by Robot Entertainment as a sequel to the original Orcs Must Die! title, which was released by Microsoft Game Studios as a sequel for the PC platform on July 30 in the US.
Events in Orcs Must Die! 2 take place literally days after the events of the first game. The Sorceress is hiding from a mob of enemies when a rift mysteriously opens up next to her.
She goes inside and finds herself in the Dwawern Mine, right in front of the Wizard of War, who is now working the mines. She asks for his help in fighting the Orcs. The two discover that more and more fissures are opening in different locations. They decide to enter the rift and return to the world of the Dead. There they discover that the War Wizard's master is still not dead. He is still alive and has opened a small, weak gap to allow the Sorceress to escape and fight the enemy together.
After the War Wizard and Sorceress begin to communicate with their master, he explains that he has begun to open the rifts again because the world behind the rifts cannot fight the magic they create. With tons of new additions to the game, it's fortunate that Orc Must Die! it doesn't punish players for every mistake they make. You can recover all your skulls at any time.
The fact that you can do this an unlimited number of times allows you to adjust your strategy until you find the appropriate game mode that will bring the right results for you. What's particularly cool about this game is that there are two protagonists you can play with that provide different play styles and combat tactics.
Although the same equipment cannot be used by both characters and switched between them, each character has unique weapons to unlock and traps to escape. Most of the game's stages are clearly designed with the multiplayer option in mind. At lower difficulty levels, the solo campaign is fun, but if you're playing alone at higher levels, you may simply find yourself unable to accomplish everything on your own.
Working in tandem is much more fun to play, especially if you're fighting a roll call of groups of enemies. Surviving by facing new beasts such as trolls that regenerate, bats that spit poison, and enemies that divide and multiply when defeated makes teamwork even more crucial. At certain points, Orcs Must Die! 2 closely resembles the original game.
This is especially true when it comes to sound, as certain repetitive sounds have already been recycled. On the other hand, there is plenty of new content to justify returning to this Orc-slaying game. In general, despite a few weak details here and there, this game justifies its steadfastness and will provide you with several hours of truly interesting experience, especially for those who have already had the opportunity to try the first game.
