The abbreviation " VPN " has slowly become established among average Internet users, which is certainly good, but the problem is that people have started to see VPN as the ultimate solution to all problems.
Build your own Multitouch Pad at home in five minutes? It is possible to! See how.
For this you will need the following materials:
- Cardboard box,
- Plexiglas (or some ordinary transparent plastic),
- White paper,
- Web camera (any),
- Computer.
Assembly:
- Raise the sides of the box and glue them to make the box higher.
- Cut the paper and transparent plastic to the dimensions of the top surface of the box.
- Glue the paper to the transparent plastic.
- In the middle of the bottom of the box, attach the camera so that it "looks" up.
- Somewhere near the bottom of the box, on a page, drill a hole where you will pass the USB from the camera.
- Place transparent plastic with paper on top of the box, and fasten it all so that it does not fall.
Software part:
- Connect the USB from the camera to the computer.
- Download these three programs and install: Finger Tracking, Mouse Driver, Multi-Touch
- Start Finger Tracking and you will see what the camera sees. Touch your fingers and you will see white dots. So it works.
- Mosue Driver allows you to control the cursor using another device.
- Multi-Touch will allow you to use 2 or more fingers.
How it works?
The camera records white paper and since it is dark inside the box, the camera will recognize your fingers when you put them on the paper because a shadow is created. The Finger Tracker program recognizes these shadows and inverts them to white. It then tracks the white color that the camera sees. And the Mouse Driver program moves the cursor when the Finger Tracking program detects the movement of those white dots (your fingers).
