Here's what a VPN can't protect you from (but you need to use it)

The abbreviation " VPN " has slowly become established among average Internet users, which is certainly good, but the problem is that people have started to see VPN as the ultimate solution to all problems.

Share your internet connection from your computer to Android via USB

Share your internet connection from your computer to Android via USB

Do you have an Android phone and no WiFi nearby? Here's a great solution to share the internet you use on your computer with your Android phone via USB.

This is the  Reverse Tethering method, which means that you will not share the Internet from phone to computer (Tethering) but vice versa, from computer to phone (Reverse Tethering). You don't need a Wireless Card in your computer, or anything else, just a USB cable.

So let's get started

What you need:

  1. Rooted Android phone (Must be Rooted)
  2. USB cable
  3. AndroidTool program (Download)
  4. USB drivers for your device (may help)
  5. ADB (ADB 15 sec installer)

Linkage:

  1. Connect your Android phone via USB.
  2. Turn on „debugging“ mode (Settings > Applications > Development > USB Debugging > Turn On).

Work on the phone:

  1. Transfer the .apk file from the .zip archive you downloaded
  2. Install the .apk file on the phone

Work on computer:

  1. Launch AndroidTool.exe (previously unzip the .zip archive you downloaded)
  2. Click "Refresh" (1) in the upper left corner and you will see your device next to it.
  3. Click on "Check DNS" (2) below and select a number from the two.
  4. And finally "Connect".
  5. Now look at the phone, you will be notified of the permit, just click on "Allow" or "Grant".

Wait a little longer, a few seconds, and when in the lower-left corner of the program it says "Connected!". You did it. Now feel free to go online over the phone and enjoy! ;)

Remark:

Read  the Troubleshooting (FAQ) on the official XDA post -  http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1371345

Recommendation:

Turn off the 3G connection to make sure the Internet doesn't take your credit (Settings > Mobile > Use Packet Access > Off).

Disable SuperUser notifications so that notifications do not appear non-stop on the screen (Menu > Preferences > Notifications part) - turn off the item: "Do not show a notification when an app is granted Su Permissions".

Use Opera Mini (Opera Next).

That would be it.

In the picture below, the arrow shows that the phone is connected and that you can use the Internet. To the right of the arrow, there is no WiFi or 3G icon, which means you do not spend credit or battery because WiFi is turned off;)

SOPA and PIPA are slowly losing support, the protest yielded results

Controversial U.S. anti-piracy laws, known by the acronyms SOPA and PIPA lost the support of eight members of Congress after major protests by the Internet community. Support was denied, among others, by Marco Rubio of Florida, a rising star of the Republican Party, and his party colleague Roy Blunt of Missouri - who were among the signatories of the bills.

New Google mobile internet saving application - Datally

I wrote an article on how to save internet traffic on an Android device and I suggested the Onavo Extend and Opera Max apps because they were the most popular back then. Meanwhile, Opera Max has been discontinued and Onavo has been completely redesigned and is now a VPN application with the option to save internet traffic. Their compression technology is probably now used by Facebook in its application because they bought Onavo - link . Google has decided to seize the opportunity and "push" with a new application called " Datally ".

Exactly six years ago, one of the founders of Twitter posted his first tweet - " just setting up my twttr ". Although the popularity of this service was modest in the first few years, today Twitter has over 500 million users who send tweets, and messages 140 characters long.

How to change IMEI number on Android phone?

IMEI is an abbreviation of "international mobile equipment identity" and each mobile phone should have a unique IMEI number. You cannot change this number with the operator, but you can temporarily change it on your device. It allows the operator to accurately identify your device and thus enable/disable network services. Also, you can use the possibility of changing the IMEI number, at least for a short time, if you know exactly what you want, but I leave those ideas to you because this is an educational article.

Google AI game recognizes and learns what you draw!

Artificial intelligence (AI) is quite popular nowadays and is being used more and more intensively. Google has, I can say, the most developed so far and is available to end-users (at least one part). We had a chance to see how it is integrated into the new Google Assistant that has replaced Google Now.
