Google's Chrome became the most popular web browser for one day, when on Sunday, March 18 (March 18, 2012), it moved Internet Explorer to second place for the first time in history.
According to Stat Counter, which analyzes the share of search engines worldwide, Chrome was the most used search engine globally on March 18, surpassing Internet Explorer by a short time.
However, unfortunately, according to Chrome, this victory was short-lived, because, on March 19, IE was again in first place in terms of usage.
Even though this was a short-lived victory, it is more than significant, states the head of StatCounter, Aodhan Cullen, because the fact is that for the first time, a browser was more used than IE.
Firefox was expected to take the crown from Explorer, but newer versions of Mozilla have proven slow and cumbersome.
It remains to be seen whether Chrome can take the lead in this browser war in the long run, but the trend of rising popularity is certainly undeniable.
