Chrome crashed in Pwn2Own

Google's Chrome browser crashed during the Pwn2Own competition.

Yesterday, the first of three days of the competition was held. Although Pwn2Own has been untouchable in the past two years, the French team, Vupen, was the first to show the existence of two weak points within this browser when it runs on the Windows 7 operating system.

It took them only a few minutes, after visiting the site they showed that they have complete control. The Wupper team came to the competition ready to attack all four main browsers - Google Chrome, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Safari, and Mozilla Firefox.

They decided to attack Chrome because they wanted to show that no software is 'indestructible' if hackers have enough motivation and time to prepare a plan for the attack.

Although Chrome dropped Chaoki Bekrar this year, the co-founder of the Vupen company emphasized that Chrome's Sandbox is the safest of all and that it's not easy to bypass all the protection in its sandbox. For their work, the Wuppen team received a prize of 60,000 dollars and 32 points during the competition.

To click on the post or not?

Recently, Facebook has been flooded with " click bait " posts, and sometimes you don't know if there is something really useful behind that post or if it's just collecting clicks. There is a plugin that can partially reveal this to you. Nothing special, it's a Chrome extension called " Photo Zoom ". What does he actually do? Enlarges the image you hover over by loading the source address of the image . How can it help? Clickbait posts often "trick" users into clicking with an image (in addition to terrible headlines). They place those pictures so that only a part of them is visible on the Facebook wall and just enough to interest your potential. If you want to see the whole thing, you have to click on the link, which is their goal.
