Stremio is a service that allows you to watch any movie or series completely free with subtitles in HD and FHD resolution on any device, even TV.
How is it possible?
It is a free program for Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, and iOS that serves as a player to play video content from your computer. That’s all this program does and it’s completely legal.
However, various users have made add-ons for Stremio that allow you to watch video content from Torrent and Netflix.
Stremio has distanced itself by waiving responsibility for these add-ons, so users install and use them at their own risk. This means it's a must-have, use a VPN service!
What does Stremio offer?
- A database of all possible films, even those currently in theaters
- The base of all possible series
- Content from Netflix, Amazon, iTunes, Youtube…
- Video content filtering
- View descriptions, announcements, trailers, ratings, genres… movies, and series
- Cast to a Chromecast (or similar)
- Cast translation without additional decoding (which does not burden the system)
- Mobile applications
- Integration with Trakt service
- Stremio service account
- And much more through various add- ons
Kodi or Stremio?
He aspired most to Kodi because it was the same idea. The difference is that Stremio is much simpler and "easier" for the system.
Kodi has a much, much larger database of add-ons and users, but that's because it's been available for a long time. Stremio doesn't have many add-ons because it's a relatively new tool, but that will change soon. There is currently a competition for creating add-ons, and the prize is $ 5,000.
As I said, Stremio is much simpler and easier to use, so I recommend it to those who want to simply install the program and play the movie without any additional settings. In this article, however, I will show you how to set up Stremio to make everything work automatically. You are only making these settings for the first time!

-
Set up Stremio:
I suggest you go to the program settings and set:-
General : program language (Serbian / Croatian / English…)
-
Player: Default subtitle language (Croatian / Serbian /
English…), font size and color, automatically play the next episode
(yes/no), Hardware-accelerated decoding (for stronger computers - yes,
for weaker computers - no)
-
Streaming: leave it as it is
-
General : program language (Serbian / Croatian / English…)
- Open the movie/series as desired
- On the right you will see a list of sources, my recommendation is:
- 720p BRrip (i.e. BluRay) if you are doing Cast on a 720p TV
- 1080p HDRip or BRrip if you are watching on a computer
- 1080p WEBRip or HDRip if you are doing Cast on a 1080p TV
-
720p WEBRip or WEB-DL if nothing better
- Click and wait for the video to load, enjoy!
Note: the translation will be downloaded using the "Opensubtitles" plugin that is installed by default with the program. If you have set in the settings e.g. Croatian as the primary language for translation, the plugin will try to download that automatically. If he finds more translations, you will have the option to choose while the movie/series lasts. If there is no such translation, another will be offered, and you can manually choose from the list.
Errors and bugs: currently the only bug is that encoding cannot be selected for translations, which means that the letters "Č" and "Ć" will not be visible, and maybe some more. I wrote to the developers and they said they were solving this problem.
