Here's what a VPN can't protect you from (but you need to use it)

The abbreviation " VPN " has slowly become established among average Internet users, which is certainly good, but the problem is that people have started to see VPN as the ultimate solution to all problems.

23 useful "Win" shortcuts (for all types of users)

23 useful Windows shortcuts (for all types of users)

Whether you're a beginner, an advanced user, a developer, or a designer, and you're using Windows, I'm sure some of these shortcuts will work for you.

"Win" shortcuts are those shortcuts that are activated by pressing the Win key on the keyboard. This key is mostly located in the lower-left corner of most keyboards, between the Ctrl and Alt keys.

These shortcuts are only available on the Windows operating system, but some Linux distributions have also taken them over due to user habits.

They are very useful because all the actions in the computer that we normally perform manually in a few steps can be performed in a second. In addition, the shortcut can be activated at any time, whatever you do on the computer and whatever program is running. So, it does not depend on the current program, as is the case with e.g. Ctrl and Alt shortcuts.

In this article, I decided to write a list of these shortcuts and what they are used for in the hope that they will speed up and facilitate someone's work on the computer.

Useful Windows shortcuts:

Shortcut Action
[Win] Open / close Start - more
[Win] + A Open the notifications panel
[Win] + D Quick transition to the desktop
[Win] + E Open My Computer (File Explorer)
[Win] + I Open the "Settings" application
[Win] + L Lock account or change user - more
[Win] + M Minimize all windows
[Win] + R Run the Run window
[Win] + S Run a computer search
[Win] + U Open a center for people with special needs
[Win] + <Number> Launch the application from the Start bar that corresponds to the ordinal number you press (1-9) - more
[Win] + [Left arrow] Paste the window to the left edge of the screen
[Win] + [Right arrow] Paste the window to the right of the screen
[Win] + [Upper Arrow] Enlarge the window to full screen (Maximize)
[Win] + [Bottom Arrow] Minimize
[Win] + [,] Quick desktop overview
[Win] + [Ctrl] + D Add a virtual desktop
[Win] + [Ctrl] + [Left Arrow] Change the virtual desktop
[Win] + [Ctrl] + [F4] Close the current virtual desktop
[Win] + [Home] Lower all windows except the current one
[Win] + [PrtScn] Capture the screen and place it in the Screenshots folder
[Win] + [+] Magnify the screen using a magnifying glass
[Win] + V Show copy history - read more

The most useful to me are:

1. „Win“

I often open Start because that's where all the apps I use often are. Also, I open Start to search for computers (applications, files…). When you open the start you can immediately start typing the search term.

2. Win + Number

In the status bar, I have listed several programs that I use most often during the day and I use Win + Number to run them. For example, Chrome comes first for me and it is enough to press Win + 1 to start it.

3. Win + L

Whenever I get up from the computer I lock it with Win + L shortcut.

4. Win + V

Recently, Windows 10 has an option that keeps a copy history. This history is accessed by pressing this shortcut. When the copy history window opens, you can click on an item and that content will be entered in the field you marked.

These are the Win shortcuts I use at least once a day or two that you use most often?

SIM card sizes (Mini, Micro, Nano) - explanation

Many users still complain about the size of SIM (subscriber identification module) cards. Which one goes on the phone? Can it be shortened? Can a smaller one into a larger slot? Although we are slowly switching to eSIM (more on this in this article ), we still use classic SIM cards. Newer phones usually require a Nano sizes, but operators issue SIM cards in all sizes. More precisely, now SIM cards are made so that the user can choose the size immediately, and later change it if necessary. More on that at the end of the article.

What should you check before buying a used phone?

If you buy a used phone from an unknown person, or even from a known person, you must always check the phone for any damage - visible or hidden. But what all needs to be checked? How? That is exactly what I am writing in this article!
