This is a Duos model of the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime phone which means it works with two SIM cards. Since it went on sale about a year ago, we can now classify it as a mid-range phone because it has satisfactory specifications for the average user and an affordable price.
The phone has a distinctive Samsung design and is available in 3 colors: gray, gold, and white.
The layout of the keys, and other parts of the case, is typical for Samsung phones: on the right side we have the power button, on the left side of the volume keys, below are the input for USB and microphone, and on top 3.5mm jack for headphones. On the back, we have a camera, speaker, and LED flash.
As for the camera, we have an average 8 MP camera, and it can take shots in 1080p resolution. Additional features include face and smile detection, autofocus and touch to focus, geolocation for images, and panorama mode.
On the front of the device there is a light sensor and a proximity sensor, and next to them is a secondary camera of 5 MP.
We also have a 5-inch QHD TFT screen with a resolution of 540 × 960 pixels.
In terms of specifications, this model has a quad-core 1.2 GHz Qualcomm snapdragon processor, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal memory (which can otherwise be expanded with a microSD card up to 64GB), and all powered by a 2600 mAh battery.
Android KitKat 4.4 comes with this phone but can be updated to 5.0 and 5.1 lollipops. Samsung's Touch Wiz interface is present here as well as the icons that go with it. Of course, we have pre-installed applications in the system, such as the application for Radio, voice recording, S scheduler, and others.
The Galaxy Grand Prime is a solid performance phone and is great for someone who needs a phone with two SIM cards and daily use of business applications. However, those who like to play quad-core games will run most of them.
