Once upon a time, there was a movie called "Tron", and an arcade-style game inspired by it. That 1982, as well as the mentioned film and game, have been largely forgotten, by almost everyone. The authors of the game ArmageTron Advanced, obviously do not belong to this group.
Inspired by one of the scenes from the film, a race of light motorcycles, they decided to develop an open-source game dedicated to just having fun with this concept. The basic mechanics of the game are very simple. Two or more players are represented by a two-wheeled vehicle, the so-called "Light cycle".
Vehicles are constantly moving around the spacious arena, you can neither speed up nor slow down. You can only turn left or right, 90°, using the Z and X keys. Yes, we know, it doesn't sound too interesting for now. Not complicated. One little thing that makes a big difference follows: as they move, vehicles leave a lasting mark, in the form of a light wall.
Contact of any vehicle with any wall results in loss of life and elimination from the current round. The goal, of course, is to stay last on the field and outlive all other players.
The game also offers multiplayer playability, this is probably the most fun part of the game. Of course, it is possible to play alone against the computer, which is desirable, to begin with.
As for the multiplayer variant, there are hundreds of online servers, as well as the types of games that are hosted on them, and there is also a LAN option, for playing with locally networked friends.
