Global technology leader Xiaomi came in second as one of the leading smartphone brands in Central and Eastern Europe in the third quarter of 2020, with a growth of 80% over last year and reaching a market share of 27%, according to Canalys.
The company grew by 91% and reached 19% of the market share in Europe and remained the third smartphone brand in the same period.
"Central and Eastern Europe have been one of the key regions on Xiaomi's path to global expansion. Over the past quarter, we have introduced many new products to meet the growing daily demand in the region," said Andrew Wong, Xiaomi's general manager for Central and Eastern Europe, the Nordic and Baltic countries.
"We have seen multiple increases in our performance thanks to all our efforts to consolidate the online and offline retail system and the unwavering support of our business partners," he added.
In Central and Eastern Europe, Xiaomi climbed one place to become the second-largest smartphone brand in the second quarter of 2020. In the same report, Xiaomi continued its leading role as the top smartphone brand in Poland and Ukraine for the second and eighth consecutive quarters, with market shares of 29% and 40% in the third quarter.
