Here's what a VPN can't protect you from (but you need to use it)

The abbreviation " VPN " has slowly become established among average Internet users, which is certainly good, but the problem is that people have started to see VPN as the ultimate solution to all problems.

Interesting gadgets for less than $5 [2. part]

Due to the great interest in the article in which I presented several interesting gadgets that cost less than $ 5, I decided to compile another list.

Note:  all the products I listed below can be purchased on various sites, but I posted links to Aliexpress because I have bought a lot there and have the most experience.

Detailed instructions on how to buy all these products can be found in THIS article, and if you have any doubts or questions, you can write in the comments.

1. FM transmitter for mobile

A small device that plugs into the 3.5mm headphone jack in the phone and you can broadcast any song from the phone via radio waves. Then, another device that captures radio waves can listen to what you play. So, this device turns your phone into a mini radio station. But since it is forbidden to broadcast a radio signal without permission, choose a free frequency. They are a little more expensive than $ 5 but are often at a good discount so they can be found for $ 2-3.

2. NFC tag

Today, more and more smart devices have active NFC, but often, ie. rarely, NFC tags come with the device. They are the size of a postage stamp and are quite cheap. They can easily be used to write information and use it in various ways. I haven't really seen NFC tags in our stores, but they are really cheap.

3. Google Cardboard

Google Cardboard is a phone holder with special prescription lenses that create a sense of virtual reality, something like the Oculus rift just when you use the phone. You can read more about what Google Cardboard is on the Internet, and you can buy it on the Aliexpress site for a few dollars.

4. USB Bluetooth Music Receiver

Turn any speakers into Bluetooth speakers! Play songs from your phone (or other Bluetooth devices) and listen to music on the speaker at the other end of the room. If your speaker does not have a USB, you can connect it with a regular 3.5mm Jack cable but you need a USB power supply for the Receiver.

5. Play music from your phone on a tape deck

This cassette works by plugging a 3.5mm jack into the headphone jack on a device, e.g. phone, and inserting the tape itself into the device that reads the tape. Play music, press Play on your device and that's it! Great addition if your car radio only supports cassettes.

6. Shooting shutter (for smartphones)

Anyone involved in photography is sure to use a trigger to take a photo from a distance. A very useful thing. For just a few dollars you can buy a trigger for smartphones, so you can take group pictures with the rear camera with a simple click of a button.

The Galaxy Note was ridiculed when it appeared, and now…

Did you know that the first Samsung Galaxy Note was ridiculed by users and the media? Everyone laughed at his "huge" case and said that it would fall apart immediately after it appeared. They said that it was too big and that such a phone would never be used every day.

The difference between Sleep, Hibernate and Hybrid sleep options

What is the difference between regular Sleep mode and Hybrid sleep mode? And what is Hibernate ? I will try to explain in the simplest way possible so that everyone understands nicely. 1. Sleep When you select Sleep mode , all components of the computer except RAM are shut down to store data. So, if you do something on the computer and press Sleep, the computer shuts down and everything you did (left open windows, documents, etc.) is stored in RAM.

To click on the post or not?

Recently, Facebook has been flooded with " click bait " posts, and sometimes you don't know if there is something really useful behind that post or if it's just collecting clicks. There is a plugin that can partially reveal this to you. Nothing special, it's a Chrome extension called " Photo Zoom ". What does he actually do? Enlarges the image you hover over by loading the source address of the image . How can it help? Clickbait posts often "trick" users into clicking with an image (in addition to terrible headlines). They place those pictures so that only a part of them is visible on the Facebook wall and just enough to interest your potential. If you want to see the whole thing, you have to click on the link, which is their goal.

What is GLONASS?

If you've looked at the detailed specification of an Android or GPS device, you may have seen another term next to the GPS tag and didn't know exactly what it represents. Well,  GLONASS is a global navigation system that was started by the USSR in 1976, so this project could be taken over by Russia after the collapse of the Soviet Union.

Google highlights the problems

Google has released a new study detailing how it is becoming increasingly difficult to identify harmful websites and attacks as antivirus programs increasingly prove to be an ineffective defense against new types of attacks.
