CCleaner has become an almost regular program on Windows computers. Everyone uses it, cleans the computer regularly, and thinks that it speeds it up that way. But is that really so?
If you use it as an average user, with default settings, it will only slow down your computer. How come he slows down? It's simple, CCleaner deletes files that actually speed up your computer. For example, it deletes temp files that serve to speed up your internet surfing. This is where the browser saves the data, so the next time you visit a site, the browser reads the already cached data from the HDD, it doesn't have to download it again from the internet. What's more, it deletes site cookies and other information such as autofill, so you may lose some saved auto-fill data in the browser. Only the "Empty recycle bin" option can help, but you don't need additional software.
Another option, the Registry, might help. You can practice this from time to time.
There are some "more advanced" options in the Tools category:
- Uninstall: it already exists in the system itself
- Startup: again already exists in the system itself
- File finder: and it exists in the system
- System restore: and it exists in the system
- Drive wiper: this option is not bad, but it is not recommended for less experienced users. I mentioned it when I wrote about the factory reset of smart devices. This option deletes files so that they can no longer be recovered, even with the recovery tool. Caution!
And finally, is CCleaner needed? In essence, it is not. Neither he nor other similar programs do anything special, they simply unite the already existing functions in one place.
