Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 users who do not use OneDrive (formerly SkyDrive) may want to remove this service from Windows Explorer, but there is no option anywhere. How to remove it?
You will need a small program called RegOwnershipEx, which you can download from the following link - http://winaero.com/comment.php?comment.news.210
After downloading and unpacking the archive, run the program. Enter the following path in the field you see:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{8E74D236-7F35-4720-B138-1FED0B85EA75}\ShellFolder
Now click on Take Ownership, and then on Open in Registry Editor.
When the Registry Editor starts, double-click Attributes and enter 0 (zero) for Value.
Restart Windows Explorer as follows: right-click on the start bar, Task Manager, right-click on Windows Explorer, Restart.
Wait a few seconds for Windows Explorer to restart and that's it.
Note: if you want to restore the OneDrive folder, just enter f080004d in the Value Data field
