Here's what a VPN can't protect you from (but you need to use it)

The abbreviation " VPN " has slowly become established among average Internet users, which is certainly good, but the problem is that people have started to see VPN as the ultimate solution to all problems.

How to use Proxy?

How to use Proxy?

In short, what is a proxy:

The proxy provides you with Anonymity by the fact that the client does not communicate directly with the servers on the Internet, it is achieved that the remote server does not know who really accesses it.

Invisible proxy servers are those for which the client does not need to configure the computer or is often not even aware of their existence. Their work is based on intercepting client traffic and they are common in larger companies.

Public proxy servers are also available over the Internet, not just from the local network.

There are also proxy servers for email that have the function to filter out unwanted incoming and outgoing mail. Outgoing mail filters are especially important due to the increasing number of internet worm infections.

More on this on Wikipedia.

Now, how to use a proxy and how to be anonymous online.

There are several ways, but I will explain the 2 easiest ways.

1) The site hidemyass.com will hide your IP address in a few seconds.

When you go to the site, you will see a large field where you type the site you want to visit anonymously. Then click on the yellow button next to it and that's it, you will be redirected to that site under a fake IP address.

2) You can install an add-on for your web browser and thus surf the Internet with a fake IP address non-stop.

You will need the  Proxy Switchy plugin for this! which is intended for Chrome users or Foxy Proxy for Firefox users.

So, when you install the plugin, a new page with options will open:

Enter the name of the profile in the first field (put anything), copy the IP and port in the second and third fields, and uncheck the box below that says: "Use the same proxy server for all protocols".

You will find the IP and Port at THIS link. Next to each IP and port, it will write which country it is from, speed, anonymity, etc. The list is refreshed every minute.

When you have entered the IP and Port, click "Save". Now in the upper right corner of your browser, click on the planet-shaped icon and select the profile you created.

To return to the standard proxy (profile), just select "Direct Connection".

Speccy - Get to know your computer in detail

The average user usually only knows what the CPU speed is, how much RAM it has, what the label is on the graphics card, and how much the HDD is… But he doesn't know some perhaps more important details. Speccy is a program that will reveal these details and you will have a complete insight into all the components that are inside your machine.

Look at historical objects in three dimensions

Google has launched a new Cultural Institute service where you can view some 3-dimensional historical objects on your computer in your favorite web browser. The items are detailed and you can enlarge them to see even the smallest parts. Of course, they are not perfect, there are some irregularities somewhere, but they were not noticed.
