10 interesting facts about Samsung (part 2)

Samsung is a very interesting company and there are many interesting things about it. Three years ago, I compiled a list of 7 interesting things about that company, so now I will compile a list of 10 more interesting things that you may not have heard of.

1. Samsung generates 17% of South Korea’s total GDP

GDP (Gross Domestic Product) is the monetary value of all finished products and services that one country generates - ALL. Samsung generates 17% of that value annually for the entire country of South Korea!

2. So far, they have sold 1,000,000,000 Galaxy phones

This figure is certainly commendable, but it’s just the number of Galaxy phones sold, not tablets.

3. Apple has tried to wipe Samsung out of the world of mobile phones

Apple has sued Samsung several times for copying patents, and Apple is actually known for suing other companies while they copy Android in 90% of cases.

They once sued Samsung for copying the "touch to zoom" option and the layout of the Home page on the phones. They asked for 2,000,000,000 dollars, but they came out with only 530,000,000 - which was worthless for Apple at the time.

They once again tried to sue Samsung for copying the design of their iPad devices when the Galaxy Tab appeared. They lost, and in addition, the judge ordered that Apple release public advertisements in newspapers and on the Internet which will clearly indicate that Samsung did not copy the iPad - uh.

There were other attempts with the intention of removing them from the smartphone market, but of course, they did not succeed, nor will they.

4. Samsung supplies Apple

Although these two companies are rivals, many do not know, that Apple would not have the phones it has today if it were not for Samsung. As many as 90% of the OLED screens that Apple uses in its iPhones are manufactured by Samsung.

5. Samsung earns… a lot!

To get a picture of how nice Samsung is doing, just imagine the figure of $ 400,000, and now imagine that they earn that much every 60 seconds.

6. The largest shipbuilding company in the world

One of Samsung's companies - Samsung Heavy Industries - is the largest shipbuilding company in the world. Yes, ships, and the biggest ones.

7. Samsung is the largest advertiser in the world

Last year, Samsung became the leading company in terms of advertising. No company from any sphere of business in the world spends money on advertising as much as Samsung spends. It just says how much they are actually investing in their company.

8. Holds the most patents in the USA

At present, Samsung has about 300,000 active patents in various fields. They were mostly the first to have patents for the devices we use today. For example, they were the first to patent flexible smartphones with a screen all over the case.

9. Samsung could buy Android

In 2004, Android had money problems so they turned to Samsung, they turned them down because they didn’t see the potential in that OS. Just two weeks later, Google bought Android.

10. Samsung has a testing section in the Digital City

Samsung created the Digital City where, among other things, Galaxy phones are designed, and that's where the first curved screen concept came from.

In that city, they also have a section intended for testing devices. So there are robots that test the endurance of the phone, say while the game is running and the phone is charging, or just the flexibility of the case.

In addition to these standard tests, they also have an unusual test. Namely, they have a "Butt" robot that has the task of sitting on the phone several times to make sure that the phone will not bend.

This may seem absurd to some, but just remember how Apple did with the iPhone 6 phones - the famous bendgate.

End

And that would be what concerns this list. If you haven't watched the first part, you can do so at this link. What fact about Samsung is most interesting to you? Write below in the comment.

So, if you do something on the computer and press Sleep, the computer shuts down and everything you did (left open windows, documents, etc.) is stored in RAM.

We often find a movie we like, but in addition to a good movie, we also need subtitles. However, it is not enough to just find a subtitle for a movie or series, you need to "guess" the right subtitle.
