If you were wondering if you could install more RAM, SSD, another HDD, or maybe a graphics one on your laptop, and you don't know how to check it, you can look for help on one site.
You will first need the correct label for your laptop, such as the Toshiba Satellite C55-A-1H1. You can find this tag mostly under the laptop.
- Go to this link http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/advisor
- Now choose the manufacturer, then the series, and finally the exact model
- Click "Find upgrade"
Ok, now you have categories of components that you can insert into your laptop. So you have, say, RAM, then SSD, graphics, etc., and in each of these sections, specific components are offered. Of course, you don't have to buy them on that site, or exactly you, but you can have similar ones, e.g. from another manufacturer.
It is important to look at the specifications of these components. For example, for SSDs, look at the size (eg 2.5 ″ 7mm) and SATA (eg SATA 3) so you can take that data and search local stores to see what is on offer.
You can upgrade those categories of components that are listed. If there is no graphics then you cannot insert the graphics, or if there is no SSD then your laptop does not have an SSD slot, and so on.
But, be sure to check those important data, for example with RAM, check the capacity, CL, speed, and voltage. Example: DDR3, 1600MHz, 1.35V
The same goes for all the other parts. If you are not sure, ask a more professional or write the model of your laptop in the comment below this text, and I, or one of the readers, will try to answer.
