Here's what a VPN can't protect you from (but you need to use it)

The abbreviation " VPN " has slowly become established among average Internet users, which is certainly good, but the problem is that people have started to see VPN as the ultimate solution to all problems.

Mid-range, or mid-range phones, are for all those who want a solid piece of hardware for a decent price. There are a lot of Android phones in this category, and buyers from our country often opt for them because they are not as expensive as the latest ones with the best specifications (600+ euros), and yet they are not cheap ones that will change after a year (below 200 euros).

I singled out a few phones from this class, and in the end, I decided to take the LG G3. Why?

First of all, the LG G3 is the first phone with a QHD screen (but it is no longer the only one), and also the first phone with a laser focus for the camera. In addition, this model can charge wirelessly, and has a battery that can be easily changed and NFC. Currently, only a few models on the market have all three of these options.

Note 4, LG G4, and LG G3

are those models, and similar in specifications, with the Note and G4 being stronger but also more expensive - more than 200 euros. In my opinion, their hardware advantage is not so crucial, especially for the average user who cannot notice the difference in everyday work. Of course, who wants a high-performance phone, and can pay more, I definitely recommend them.

Galaxy S5

it was not shortlisted because it is a little more expensive. But, the two models are usually compared and the result is always almost equal. After a bunch of test videos and pictures taken with the SGS5 and LG G3 camera, the G3 still took a bit more points when it comes to the camera. It was a little harder for me to choose a better camera, but the G3 laser focus comes in really handy in many situations. Plus, the G3 paints better images in low-light conditions. In addition, it has dual-led, so the white balance is much better when using the flash. I was surprised that the S5 makes slightly better videos in the dark, ie. when there is little light, but that is for the nuance, it was not crucial.

In terms of performance, they have processors of the same power, RAM as well… In that respect, they are equal. When it comes to hardware, the S5 has a slightly weaker battery - 2,800 mAh. The advantage is that there are several interesting sensors, such as a barometer, heart rate monitor, and fingerprint sensor, but I personally do not use and would not use them. If that matters to someone, then the G3 isn’t exactly the best option for him.

Design:

I would like to reserve a few more paragraphs for the design item of the LG G3 phone because it is well done. First of all, despite the large 5.5-inch screen, the device itself is not that big, which is due to the high screen-to-body ratio. That is, the edges on the side are very thin, so the width of the case is smaller. It has a rounded background so it fits better in your hand, and the metal-like back cover finish is great and you don’t have to worry about the phone slipping out of your hand.

And of course, the volume control buttons and the power button are located on the rear as well, as in the predecessor - the G2 model. This is actually much more convenient for phones with larger screens because the keys are much easier to access with the index finger.

When all this is taken into account, the LG G3 can be used with one hand without any problems. I personally have bigger hands and this phone is the perfect size for me. If someone has smaller hands, LG has inserted several useful options for controlling the phone with one hand.

The dimensions of the device body are: 146.3 x 74.6 x 8.9 mm, and the screen-to-body ratio is about 75.3%. For comparison, the SGS5 screen-to-body ratio is about 69.6%. You can see a more detailed comparison HERE.

When we summarize everything:

The LG G3 is a great phone that costs according to its capabilities. The screen and camera are the main advantages of this phone. The screen is simply phenomenal, and it can only be seen live, not through video clips. The QHD screen with a resolution of 1440 × 2560 pixels gives incredible sharpness and every user will enjoy watching pictures, video clips, playing games, or just surfing the Internet.

The camera is also phenomenal, it has an extremely fast and precise laser focus. Combined with optical and digital stabilization, and dual-led flash, every picture will be perfect! What also thrilled me was the width of the image. The camera captures a wide angle, unlike most models, so you don't have to move the phone away from objects to capture its full width. As for recording, did I mention that it records in 4K resolution? O yes! Also, it is very important to me, it records stereo sound which is quite high quality.

Many have said, and I confirm, that the sound quality on this phone is excellent. Dolby for sound enhancement is the real thing. Of course, there is also a secondary microphone that serves to reduce noise while you talk.

What I still like about this phone is the KnockCode. This is a very useful option because it allows you to unlock and lock the screen by double-tapping it. Or, you can set an unlock pattern! For example. create a template to tap 2x the lower right corner of the screen, 2x the upper left, and once the lower left. When the screen is off, just repeat that pattern and it unlocks automatically.

The LG G3 really has a lot of advantages and interesting things, and it's not expensive either, which is why I decided to make it my next primary Android phone.

Google has launched a new Cultural Institute service where you can view some 3-dimensional historical objects on your computer in your favorite web browser. The items are detailed and you can enlarge them to see even the smallest parts. Of course, they are not perfect, there are some irregularities somewhere, but they were not noticed.
