Here's what a VPN can't protect you from (but you need to use it)

The abbreviation " VPN " has slowly become established among average Internet users, which is certainly good, but the problem is that people have started to see VPN as the ultimate solution to all problems.

Pixel Battery Saver

Pixel Battery Saver

The battery is still one of the biggest problems with smartphones. Although we have phones with a 2000mAh battery, they are expensive. We find the solution in various applications and Power Banks (which will be discussed in one of the next posts).

In this post, I am writing about an application that will significantly extend battery life for all phones that have an AMOLED screen. The AMOLED screen is "battery friendly" because the rule is:  black pixel = turned off pixel. In translation, with the AMOLED screen, the black pixels are turned off to save the battery. If you have a custom AOSP ROM, you've probably noticed the "black theme" option that turns all dark colors into pure black, ie. excludes pixels in places where it is black.

Pixel Battery Saver

Forget about apps that "kill" other apps to free up RAM and save battery. This method is not recommended,  which I have already written about.

That's why someone came up with and made an application that will save battery where it is most consumed - the screen. It works by turning off every other pixel and thus reducing battery consumption, because half a pixel is turned off, right. Of course, the image quality also decreases, but if you set it to "low" optimization, it doesn't matter. As much as it reduces the image quality, it will significantly reduce battery consumption and can save you in some situations.

In version 2.0, they inserted the option to activate the battery saving mode only when the charge percentage falls below the set value. You can also adjust which pixels will be turned off, all in a few simple steps.

In numbers:

The application is free, and you can download it from this link - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pl.poveu.pixelbatterysaver

Update: the application is no longer available, this is a replacement -

I repeat: only for phones that have an AMOLED screen.

X96 Mini Android TV Box Review

I have already written an article about buying an Android TV Box for up to 30 euros, and now I am writing about one such device - the X96 Mini TV Box . There is not much to say about this device, its price is around 25 euros, it is an Android TV Box like any other, which means that it is powered by an Android system. Since I wrote about it in the previous article, I will not repeat myself. These cheaper TV Box devices differ mainly only in the chip, amount of RAM, and ROM memory. In the previous article, I wrote about what to pay attention to when choosing, and I chose this device that way.

To click on the post or not?

Recently, Facebook has been flooded with " click bait " posts, and sometimes you don't know if there is something really useful behind that post or if it's just collecting clicks. There is a plugin that can partially reveal this to you. Nothing special, it's a Chrome extension called " Photo Zoom ". What does he actually do? Enlarges the image you hover over by loading the source address of the image . How can it help? Clickbait posts often "trick" users into clicking with an image (in addition to terrible headlines). They place those pictures so that only a part of them is visible on the Facebook wall and just enough to interest your potential. If you want to see the whole thing, you have to click on the link, which is their goal.
