Here's what a VPN can't protect you from (but you need to use it)

The abbreviation " VPN " has slowly become established among average Internet users, which is certainly good, but the problem is that people have started to see VPN as the ultimate solution to all problems.

What is Torrent and how does it work?

What is Torrent and how does it work?

I often get questions like "How do I speed up a torrent?" Or "why do I download a torrent slowly?" "And similar, so I decided to explain here how Torrent works and that not much can be done to increase the download speed of files.

So, Torrent is based on P2P technology launched by Bram Cohen with the idea of "unloading" servers to which huge files are sent. P2P (Peer to Peer) works by users exchanging files with each other without an intermediary (server). There used to be a central server that commanded files where to go. Later, the central server was dropped and only users who send the file (seed) and who downloaded (peer) remained.

Seeds are users (computers) who share a certain file from their computer so that other users (computers - peers) can download them. Torrent can identify exactly which file someone is sharing so you can download exactly that file and not another of a similar name or size. This is done by files with the extension ".torrent" and it contains information about the server that coordinates the download of the file, as well as the file itself (alternative are Magnet links). These are the files that you download from torrent sites and insert into the Torrent client.

The server that monitors and coordinates the download of a file is called The tracker and is the most important component of the system. Trackers also help you download a file at a faster speed without a Seed computer.

What is Torrent and how does it work?

So, when you start downloading a file, the speed of reception depends on the number of computers that send the file, but also on the number of computers that download it. The more they send, their Upload speed adds up because everyone sends "pieces" of the file, and therefore your Download is faster. If more people take over, then they also take those "pieces" for themselves, and the flow is divided. So, everyone benefits and no one harms (except the publisher of the content you download).

And after this story, we come to the "main" one - how to speed up the reception? Not at all, except to get a bigger internet package from the provider.

But, in case there are a lot of Seeds, and only a few Peers, it means that these downloaders have faster internet, or their sent/received file ratio is better than yours. This is also very important, you have to send files and not just download them. When your relationship increases, you will have a greater privilege to download better than the one whose relationship is lower.

I hope I have clarified at least a little how Torrent works. If you have any more questions (other than "how to speed up the torrent"), leave them in the comments.

SIM card sizes (Mini, Micro, Nano) - explanation

Many users still complain about the size of SIM (subscriber identification module) cards. Which one goes on the phone? Can it be shortened? Can a smaller one into a larger slot? Although we are slowly switching to eSIM (more on this in this article ), we still use classic SIM cards. Newer phones usually require a Nano sizes, but operators issue SIM cards in all sizes. More precisely, now SIM cards are made so that the user can choose the size immediately, and later change it if necessary. More on that at the end of the article.
