Google plans to introduce default encryption using SSL in search of users who signs in through their accounts in the next few weeks, the company said in a statement.

The move came a year after Google made SSL the default setting for Gmail and introduced an encrypted search engine. Evelyn Kao, Production Manager at Google, says the company has recognized the importance of protecting personalized search results by ensuring that search becomes an increasingly customized experience.
