"Superfish" is an adware program with a major security flaw, which was found pre-installed on some Lenovo laptops. However, it's not just the users of these computers who are at risk, this program is "running" through the installation of other programs, so many other Windows computers are also at risk.
You can find more details about "Superfish" here, and on the Lenovo website you can see exactly which models are infected - Link.
However, it is a good idea to check if your computer is also infected. It's easy, just open this link - https://lastpass.com/superfish/
This link also contains instructions on how to remove the threat, if any, and here is a shorter version:
- Open Start, type in the search "certmgr.msc" (without quotes), and press Enter
- Click on „Trusted Root Certification Authorities“ and go on „Certificates“
- Search for "Superfish Inc", right-click and select "Delete"
- Restart your internet browser and check that link again
Tip: ALWAYS follow the steps when installing a program, be careful not to "drag" another program.
