"Superfish" - check if your computer is infected

"Superfish" is an adware program with a major security flaw, which was found pre-installed on some Lenovo laptops. However, it's not just the users of these computers who are at risk, this program is "running" through the installation of other programs, so many other Windows computers are also at risk.

You can find more details about "Superfish" here, and on the Lenovo website you can see exactly which models are infected -  Link.

However, it is a good idea to check if your computer is also infected. It's easy, just open this link -  https://lastpass.com/superfish/

This link also contains instructions on how to remove the threat, if any, and here is a shorter version:

  1. Open Start, type in the search "certmgr.msc" (without quotes), and press Enter
  2. Click on „Trusted Root Certification Authorities“ and go on „Certificates
  3. Search for "Superfish Inc", right-click and select "Delete"
  4. Restart your internet browser and check that link again

Tip: ALWAYS follow the steps when installing a program, be careful not to "drag" another program.

To click on the post or not?

Recently, Facebook has been flooded with " click bait " posts, and sometimes you don't know if there is something really useful behind that post or if it's just collecting clicks. There is a plugin that can partially reveal this to you. Nothing special, it's a Chrome extension called " Photo Zoom ". What does he actually do? Enlarges the image you hover over by loading the source address of the image . How can it help? Clickbait posts often "trick" users into clicking with an image (in addition to terrible headlines). They place those pictures so that only a part of them is visible on the Facebook wall and just enough to interest your potential. If you want to see the whole thing, you have to click on the link, which is their goal.
