Surely you have wondered at least once how much electricity your computer consumes and how to save? There is a simple tool you can use to calculate consumption.
The site at http://outervision.com/power-supply-calculator will help you with that. You need to fill in all the fields and select the components you have in the computer, and the calculator will calculate how much electricity your computer consumes.
If you do not know which components you have, look for the main ones using this program.
If you want to save, look when you have a cheap and when an expensive tariff, and use your computer less during the expensive tariff period.
Average
If you have an average computer, meaning one that would run games on medium, then it will consume about 200W per hour. For about 6 hours of work per day, it will consume 1,200W, or 1.2kW.
The price of electricity in the blue zone (in which you most likely use the computer the most) is 8.4 dinars. for higher, or 2.1 dinars for a lower tariff. Suppose you use a computer a little in the lower (at night) a little in the higher (day) tariff, so we will take the average, which is 5 dinars for 1kW.
We said that the average computer consumes about 1.2 kW per day, which is about 6 dinars a day.
The average computer spends a month
~ 180 dinars!
